It is so obvious the authentic bag is made of distressed Italian leather since the leather looks naturally creased in the photo. The fake below is made of cowhide. You cannot see any leather texture except grainy-look from cowhide.

Some of the replica look very authentic. I actually bought one from ebay. This replica drawstring tote I got from ebay is made of thin lambskin. This lambskin is buttery soft. But the stitching craftsmanship from this replica is quite poor. I can see broken thread in some quilted stitching!

I have a 30cm birkin myself. I have to say this birkin is very well-made. I cannot tell its authenticity from these photos. The only photo that made me doubt about its authenticity is the photo with the bottom of the lock. The authentic lock is not like that!
