From the description, this black giant hardware brief is made of lambskin. Its lambskin looks a bit smooth comparing with the original one below:

The following red Brief bag I found from some internet shop has the distressed glossy leather, but its red zipper in front lookks cheap.

How lovely this small Brief bag is! I doubt if Balenciaga has ever made the small version Brief.

For Balenciaga Giant hardware Brief bag, the big difference between the real and the fake is the leather. Although the sellers of the fake claim this distressed leather is thin, from what I saw from the photos, the original Brief has the more distressed, thin and glossy leather.

I once thought this (below) is an original item as the washed denim is so distressed, until I found the plastic around the handles. Only replicas have handle wrap like this.

After comparing two photos carefully, I found the difference. Although two bags look similar, the golden tone of the hardware tells the truth. The authentic denim neo speedy has the matt-finished golden tone snaps and the fake has the more SHINY LIGHT golden hardware.
